It’s hard to think of any meal that we enjoy as much as brunch – especially on a lazy weekend day when the only thoughts we have are enjoying family, friends, and some great food. National Eggs Benedict got us thinking about where are our favorite places to enjoy a great Eggs Benedict at brunch – these are 3 of our favorites.
Bouchon 1314 – Dallas, Texas
We are so lucky to be Dallas Dwellers and to have this gem just down the road from us. Bouchon 1314 is the perfect neighborhood bistro – a beautiful setting, gracious staff, delicious menu and my favorite especially for brunch – they don’t try to run you out the door when you are having a great time. We could enjoy every meal here – it’s that good.
Sotto 13 – New York City
During my last visit to NYC I wanted to find a good brunch spot so I started doing my research online. When I read about Sotto 13 I knew I had to give it a try and I am so glad that I did! This is the perfect spot to go with a group on a weekend morning. You have the option to order their social brunch where the entire table is served family style. It’s a great value and the perfect way to try more than one item from their menu.
The Eggs Benedict were just what we were looking for – cooked perfectly, and covered with lots of hollandaise sauce. Our favorite part of brunch though was their Prosecco Bar where you get a bottle of Prosecco paired with fresh fruit, liqueurs, juices and simple syrups to make your own mimosas with. So much fun and a great idea! We suggest you go early – they fill up very quickly and once you start sampling, no one wants to leave!
L U C K Dallas
L U C K stands for Local Urban Craft Kitchen and we started spending more time here when they started offering their beer and cupcake or beer and donut pairings. Sounds really strange but they are masters at pairing the right flavors together and it’s a lot of fun. My favorite thing on their menu though is the Pastrami Eggs Benedict. They make their own pastrami and it is lean, flavorful and just falls apart which is exactly what you want in a great pastrami. Served Texas style on a thick slab of Texas toast and it’s huge!
